Cost of Representation

I’m tax attorney Steve Klitzner. My practice is limited solely to representing individuals and businesses with IRS problems.

When I sit down with a new client, about 45 minutes into our 1 hour consultation, the client always says the following: “I like you. I want to hire you. I know you can solve my problem, but how am I going to pay you?” And I can tell you that I usually charge a flat fee. I analyze your case. I tell you what I think it’s going to be, what I think I can do for you, and here’s the fees start to finish.

The reason I don’t like the hourly rate, well there are two reasons. First of all, every time you call me, you’re not going to want me to send you a bill for a 15 minute consultation. That’s number one. Number two is you want to know that I have the same interest you have, and that’s getting done with your case as quickly as possible so you can go on with your life. And I don’t want anybody to think that because I’m charging hourly I have an interest in perpetuating your case any longer than it needs to be, because, from my standpoint, the quicker I can resolve the case; usually the better deal I can get for you.

So the flat fee, I believe, is the way to go, and all of my clients seem very, very happy with that. And if you’d like a free consultation to talk about your case and the fee, contact me with the information below.
